With proper permissions, you are able to do many actions with leads and contacts from Salesforce inside Outlook.  This requires both a Salesforce license and a Salesforce Inbox license.  Those may be requested by your supervisor via a helpdesk ticket.

To install Salesforce for Outlook, please follow these instructions

The proper way to add the Salesforce Add-in is via the “Get Add-ins” button within Outlook.
Click the “Admin-managed” and click “Add” by the Salesforce one.
